Vipers SC Return Focus On UPL After Dropping Out Of The CAF Champions League

Vipers SC have redirected their focus on the Uganda Premier League after they dropped out of the CAF Champions League. The team has welcomed skipper Milton Karisa ahead of their visit to Maroons FC as they embark on the title defense.

The defending champions have not played a league game since firing blanks against Wakiso Giants at home. They now return to action placed 4th on the table with 28 points.

They are 12 points behind the leaders SC Villa, but the Venoms have four games in hand.

Karisa has been out for a while and has missed a few games, but he returns with maximum optimism and confidence. He revealed how happy he is to be back after the injury he sustained and said the focus is on the game.

“The general focus is on the Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cup, but we shall take it one game at a go. We are going to do everything we can, give in absolute effort to see that we win the game,” Milton Karisa the team captain said.

Despite that though, Alex Isabirye’s side still lacks Yunus Sentamu, Marvin Youngman among other key players. Vipers faces a Maroons team that is currently on form and held KCCA to a 1-1 draw last week.

In the previous nine league meetings, Vipers are unbeaten against Maroons with 7 wins and two draws.
