NUP’s Waiswa Mufumbiro Reveals why He Will Not Attend Mpuuga’s Masaka Thanksgiving

National Unity Platform (NUP) deputy president Waiswa Mufumbiro has revealed reasons why he will personally not attend Hon Mathias Mpuuga’s Masaka event of thanksgiving.

The event is meant to celebrate the well-being of the member of parliament and the good things he has achieved in politics for his people.

Mpuuga was one of the biggest people in NUP. After he was elected as a member of parliament under NUP, he was then appointed as the leader of the opposition which is a big position in parliament.

Two years into the position, he started getting issues with his boss Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine. The situation got worse when Hon Mathias Mpuuga received money from government to appreciate him for his hard work.

NUP members and the leaders were very angry. They said the money Mpuuga took was for corruption and he needed to return it to government. He was asked to step down from the NUP roles he was given in parliament but he refused.

There has been so many words said and now NUP doesn’t want to associate themselves with him. For Waiswa Mufumbiro he said that he is pre-occupied and he doesn’t want to go because the prayers are for a thief.

“My office doesn’t escort. I don’t know about the event because I’m so preoccupied. Why would the prayers of a thug be affected by a political party?”
