The New Vision has over the past few days run headlines allegedly exposing the wrangles in NUP. At first the newspaper ran a headline saying that ‘NUP TOP BOSSES IN BITTER SPLIT.’ The latest headline in the news daily reads as ‘NUP CRISIS DEEPENS OVER CASH.”
This saw Bobi Wine take to his Twitter page to criticize the newspaper for being run as a private entity.
Yet it’s government owned and therefore public. Bobi Wine said that what ‘Museveni’s puppet Don Wanyama has reduced the New Vision to is worse.’ The politician added that this is what happens when public institutions are personalized and incompetent people hired.
“What Museveni’s puppet Don Wanyama has reduced the New Vision to! Worse than a tabloid. Happens when you personalise institutions and appoint incompetent stooges & sycophants to head them. Our nation is in deep crisis- they must manufacture lies to divert. #WeAreRemovingADictator,” Kyagulanyi tweeted.
A number of NUP top delegates have been coming out to criticize Don Wanyama and New Vision. This is over these articles that have irritated the young party.
The LOP, Mpuuga even came out to account for the full review of what happened at the recent NUP retreat. According to New Vision, this is where all the crisis came into full play.
Apparently, the way Bobi Wine runs the party is frustrating some sections of the party.
The principle has maintained hooligans at the party headquarters who are always begging for money from the MPs. Besides, when they refuse, these hooligans hurl insults at the MPs which is demeaning and frustrating.
Also, accountability for some party funds such as the shs 3.1b from IPOD and money from diaspora accountability has failed Kyagulanyi.
They advised the singer-turned politician to stop running a national political party like a business
