This increase is compared to the one the country experienced in June 2021 when the Delta variant was rampant.
“We have started experiencing an increase in the daily number of COVID-19 cases compared to the stable trends we observed since January 2022. This increase is similar to the rise we faced in June 2021 when the Delta variant was prevalent.”
She has however said unlike last year, the country is very prepared this year. She says citizens have nothing to fear in this regard and so far no indication of any need for a lockdown.
“However, as a country, we are well prepared to respond and save lives than before. We have no indication of travel restrictions or lockdown in the current circumstances. We will optimize the existing control & mitigation tools at personal & community levels.”
However, most of the people who read this are not satisfied with the communication. Most citizens say the MOH is only looking for a way of putting the country back into lockdown.
“They will do everything to push us into lockdown in addition to what we are going through,” a one Nsubuga Hill said.
Some of the members of the public think this is a diversion from the ongoing inflation.
“How are we sure that this is not another diversion from the ongoing inflation?
Given the past events in your ministry, you are the last person I would trust in our government officials. Infact you and Musenero!” a one Enock said.
