Mubarak Munyagwa; FDC Has To Know They Are No Longer Leaders Of Opposition

We Are On Our Own, Forget Kyagulanyi And NUP – Mubarak Munyagwa

Former Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa has advised people to fight for themselves. Munyagwa said that Ugandans are on their own and should forget about NUP and Bobi Wine.

Many people have been expecting the NUP principal and his party to take a firm stand against the hard economic situation. Some even expected the Kamwokya-based party to follow Besigye in protesting against the skyrocketing commodity prices.

However, they didn’t and Besigye was cuffed alone and sent behind bars. The Leader of Opposition, Hon Mathias Mpuuga however said that they made their stand already.

According to Mpuuga, they came up with theoretical recommendations on what they should do. People should therefore stop bothering Bobi Wine and NUP. This is because they advised the government on what should be done but it’s yet to consider their advice.

According to Munyagwa, it’s ‘every man for himself and God for us all.’ He however added that if Ugandans sit still, Museveni will have won. They, therefore, need to collectively rise up and take a firm stand.

Munyagwa a former MP was also furious about the proposed salary increment for legislators. He wondered why there is selective criteria in increasing salaries. Munyagwa questioned why there is a need to increase the salary of an S.6 graduates and not a doctor who spent 6 years studying.

“Why only increase the MPs’ salaries and not other people. You won’t increase a doctor’s salary who spent six years in school, but give a S.6 leaver MP, UGX 50 million. Where is the fairness?,” Munyagwa further added.

The FDC cadre also said that President Museveni won’t do anything on this proposed salary increment.

This is because he talks and makes people think he cares about the country. Yet this is the reverse since he’s mastered the art of deception.

Munyagwa added that if Museveni cares about this country, he should address reducing government expenditures. On the list should be subsidies and how children will study amidst these tough economic situations.
