He says by the time another opposition party comes up, it means the existing parties have probably not done enough. He says if they stayed in FDC, they would only be fighting amongst themselves.
“Opposition doesn’t mean opposition political parties. Even if all opposition parties disappear, the opposition remains and continues expanding. We don’t concentrate on what other organizations do, w concentrate on us (ANT). We don’t work within other political parties.”
Muntu says there was also no way of working with NRM because it would mean ANT could not exist.
“If I was to choose to work with Gen. Museveni, I know that the party (ANT) will not come with me because the focus of the party is to build a new foundation. You can’t build a new foundation on an old foundation.”
About the new coalition between DP and NRM, he completely resisted giving an opinion about it. He says until DP comes out to explain the cause for it, he has no right to talk about it.
“I want to stay away from talking about the other opposition parties. If you sow good seed, you’ll reap sweet fruit and vice versa. In terms of politics, if you do things relevant to the times, you’ll survive. I’ll have to wait to know the contents of the cooperation document between DP and NRM and the decision from their National Executive Committee. That’s when I’ll be able to give an opinion about it.”
However, Muntu says ANT will soon take over because they have started with setting up a good foundation in different parts of the country.
