We Expect New Leader Of Opposition Before This Month Ends – Rogers Mulindwa

Ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) spokesperson, Rogers Mulindwa, has revealed that a new leader of the Opposition may emerge this month.

The current Leader of Opposition is from National Unity Platform, Mathias Mpuuga. He was chosen by their president Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine.

With multiple opposition political parties in Uganda, they have been having issues with NUP which has the majority MPS saying they are selfish. It is said that NUP doesn’t welcome people from other opposition political parties.

Hon Richard Sebamala who is from the opposition political party FDC revealed that they are tired of requesting and kneeling for NUP. As an opposition political party, they have a common goal but with the leader of opposition, it’s like NUP has different strategies.

He also said that NUP needs to change the leader of the Opposition if they want things to be different. Hon Ssebamala revealed that there are more powerful leaders they can choose from that.

“We have a lot of leaders who have risen from nowhere and even have more powers than ministers,” Hon Ssebamala said.

According to Rogers Mulindwa, the issues in NUP are overwhelming. After Bobi Wine chose the leader of the opposition, Mathias Mpuuga has stopped listening to him.

Mulindwa said Hon Mpuuga is doing his own things and it is not doing justice to other opposition members. He added that NUP is not going to take long to change the leader of the opposition.

This is because they already have choices. It is only going to take this month to complete everything.

“We expect a new Leader of Opposition before this month ends. I have been hearing that they already have someone to take over. Mathias Mpuuga refused to listen to his president and now it’s time for him to go back home,” Rogers Mulindwa said.
