We Had Hope That He Would Make It – Henry Mayanja On His Late Brother Humphrey

Henry Mayanja another sibling from the Mayanja family has revealed that they expected their late brother, Humphrey Mayanja to make it out alive. He said that the family knew the sickness was very severe. This however didn’t deter their hopes of him fully recovering.

He said that he himself talked to Humphrey two days before he passed away. He seemed to have made some tremendous progress in his health. Humphrey could talk and eat by himself, a thing that wasn’t possible before.

While on the phone, Humphrey told Henry that the only thing he learned was to walk by himself. This is because he has been bedridden for a long time. And therefore he yearned to take a walk. It was, therefore, shocking a few days later to learn that he had passed away.

Read his statement below;

“I last talked to my brother on Wednesday and he sounded much better than he was the last time we talked. He told me he could do a lot by himself. He even wanted to take a walk since he had been bedridden for quite long. We knew the sickness was severe but we had hope and also prayed. Therefore, it was a shock to learn of his death two days after,” a sobbing Henry Mayanja said.

A mass was held yesterday at St Joseph Catholic Church in Lweza off Mubende Road. This was attended by many people from different walks of life. Humphrey Mayanja, now the late, will be laid to rest at the Mayanja ancestral home in Kalangalo, Ssingo.

Tributes continue to pour in eulogizing the late Mayanja. Several singers such as Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool have all expressed support to the family.

Apparently Humphrey despite living in the States most of his life, has been well-versed with different Ugandan musicians.
