“We want Kameeza Money Increased,” Group Of House Wives Cry Out

Kameeza Money; A group of housewives has converged around different roundabouts in Kampala to apparently demonstrate against various things that go on in their homes.

Some of the issues raised are that they need their husbands to increase the money left at home, this is commonly known as Kameeza.

Secondly, the women said their husband’s concubines, commonly referred to as side chicks are spoiling their marriages. They, therefore, ought to do something.

The question is how does demonstrating help in this situation? Clearly, this is not the job of the government because these are household issues that are more personal in nature.

They should probably be solved at home or with a counselor. Some wives even said, their husbands should let them go to Dubai and work if Kameeza can’t be increased.

People have criticized the act saying it’s embarrassing and even useless for that matter.

“This is one of the useless protests of our time! First of all, who regulates Akameeza? Let them go back to their husbands and sort out things… Otherwise, they’re fetching water with a basket,” a one Hudson said.

“No sensible wife can do such funny things. I have seen several women that have families but have to make ends meet and sustain their families even with the little around. And that reminds me during covid, kameza was used sparingly and what has happened NOW?!” a one Nambogo said.
