Betty Nambooze: Opposition Parties Can't Unite

We Would Be Seeing Results If Bobi Wine Was President – Betty Nambooze

Mukono Municipality MP Hon Betty Nambooze has come out to say that there would have been tangible results if her party leader, Bobi Wine was the President of Uganda.

Nambooze said that there would even be no point of going on TV. She said that the NRM members fight so hard to appear on TV. But if the government was functional, there would be no point in going to different media stations.

“If Kyagulanyi were President, we would have seen results. There would be no reason to be invited to TV to explain things. You are fighting so hard to be on TV to talk about the government. What are you hiding?” He said.

Nambooze further said that had Museveni stepped down in time, then the late John Ssebaana Kizito would have been President.

He would then be followed by Dr Kiiza Besigye and then Bobi Wine. She cited Tanzania’s President Julius Nyere who stepped down for other leaders.

“President Museveni was President when Julius Nyerere was President of Tanzania. Nyerere stepped down for other leaders.

If Museveni had stepped down, maybe Ssebaana would have been President, Kizza Besigye followed. Museveni wouldn’t have found himself competing with Kyagulanyi,” she said.

Nambooze further said that whether Ugandans like it or not, the current government will surely fall. According to the MP, the only worry for Ugandans is the government falling on the country.

Kiira Municipality MP Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda who was on the same show said that he badly wants this government to fall. Ssemujju said that most people in the NRM are there because of the dire situation in the country.

He also added that the party has lost stewardship because of the mockery of leaders it possesses. Ssemujju cited the PM Rt Hon Nabbanja who he says is a laughing stock.

“Look at the quality of leaders that were in NRM and the ones in NRM now. When you see the Prime Minister, you will laugh before she says something.”
