What Have Other Politicians Done About Hiked Commodity Prices – Journalist Baker Batte

Senior journalist, Baker Batte has lashed out at politicians who are criticizing Dr. Kizza Besigye for going on the streets to demonstrate.

Yesterday, the former President of FDC, Dr. Kizza Besigye tried to go on the streets to show his discontent with the high commodity prices. He says government is doing nothing about it yet people are rotting in poverty.

However, Baker Batte says what he did is better than what other politicians have done. He says they are folding hands but criticizing those who are raising voices in behalf of the people.

“I am excited that Besigye is doing something about the skyrocketing prices. However, I am very annoyed by those opposition leaders who say Besigye “yavakko”, he is off and “bebaliko” they are the ones on. What have they done with their being on?”

Some of the FDC supporters seconded what Batte suggested saying they have only made Muhoozi and Museveni more famous.

“Actually those saying “be abaliko” have managed to score in their own net n have created space for Muhoozi. M7 never fears Bobi or NUP or FDC or DP. Dr Besigye is the real opposition that M7 fears. Now that NUP was used to pull Dr down, trust me Muhoozi has come for another 40yrs,” a one Barigye said.

However, some of the NUP supporters have said they have never supported how Besigye approaches issues.

“FOR US IN NUP, WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN BESIGYE’S APPROACH TO BRING CHANGE! For us in NUP our PRINCIPAL uses Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter & tictok to fight m7 after he goes to his bed & sleeps! Why should we suffer with teargas if we are enjoying Parliament money?”

Meanwhile, the prices of all commodities have only continued to go higher and unfortunately nothing is to be done about it as of yet.
