Singer and Pastor, Wilson Bugembe has denied permitting comedian Reign to redo his song known as Miracle. The comedian did the song and channeled it towards a political direction and it’s evident that he’s attacking the government and President Museveni.
Pastor Bugembe quickly distanced himself from this deed. He said that the comedian, despite being his friend, didn’t ask him for permission to redo the song.
They didn’t even sit anywhere to deliberate on it. Bugembe said that he also just found the song online with political intent. However, the Nansana-based church pastor said that he has no problem with the song.
“I want to categorically make it clear that I did not give reign permission to redo my song. Despite him being my friend, I didn’t authorize what he did and I therefore want to put a disclaimer. I also just woke up and found the song online playing. He turned this song into a politically motivated one. However, I have no problem with him,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Reign said that he did not need permission from the Pastor to redo the song. According to him, art is just a mood and permission is not necessary.
As if to defend what he did, he said that anyone who also wants to redo his songs can go ahead and do so. The comedian further said that they are going to do a revolution with their art. They also pointed out that they are doing a song targeting Hon Mathias Mpuuga’s ‘corruption.’
