The Executive Director of Oxfam International, Winnie Byanyima and her sisters Edith and Martha Byanyima are some of the people who have come to stand for Mathew and Joseph Kanyamunyus as sureties.
The Kanyamunyu brothers and one Cynthia Munwangari are accused of murdering social worker Kenneth Akena near UMA showground near Lugogo along Jinja highway in Kampala last year.
Through Bashasha and company advocates, the accused persons want to be released on bail on grounds that they are responsible members of society, law abiding and will not abscond if released because they have fixed places of residence in Kampala plus substantial sureties who will ensure that they honour their bail conditions.
