According to him, cultural institutions can help them connect with other people in different countries.
“If you are going to help us in the three areas, we are going to work with you. When we restored the cultural institutions, our analysis was, if they are used properly they can play a contributory role. These cultural institutions can help us connect with our people in different countries. This is why we restored these cultural institutions.”
He said this during the function to celebrate the life of Emorimor Augustine Osuban Lemukol, the Iteso cultural leader who died on February 5, 2022, from Mulago Hospital.
“I am here to say goodbye to Mzee Osuban but most importantly, to bear testimony to his contribution which others can emulate. Do not form alternative governments; your role is to add value to Uganda which is coming up,” Museveni said.
Meanwhile, Museveni’s speech simply means he is never giving Buganda the federal it wants. His vision is for cultures to work together with the NRM government to bring about unity.
However, much as Buganda may know this, it doesn’t also look like they are ever going to stop asking for federal as they desire.
