World’s 10 Busiest Airports – 2015

These airports are measured by the amount of passenger traffic passing through the airport to their destinations either as transit passengers, departures or arrivals. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International airport in the United States has been leading for 17 years now, it is the world’s number one busiest airport with more than 95 million passengers every year, according to the Airports Council International’s World Airport Traffic Report released in August last year.

Since 2014, passenger traffic in all the busiest airports in the world has increased to 5.7% serving over 6.7 billion passengers, last year’s Ebola outbreak was among the challenges which affected the Aviation sector, but that didn’t stop the international travellers.

Below is the list of the busiest airports in the world:

1. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, United States – 95.4 million passengers. It has been world’s busiest airport for 17 years now.

2.Beijing Capital International Airport, China – 86.9 million passengers. It’s the busiest airport in the whole of Asia.

3. London Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom – 73.03 million passengers. Its the busiest airport in the whole of Europe.

4. Tokyo International Airport, Japan – 72.7 million passengers.

5. Los Angeles International Airport, United States – 70.6 million passengers.

6. Dubai International Airport, Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 70.5 million passengers.

7. O’Hare International Airport, United States – 67.09 million passengers.

8. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, France – 61.6 million passengers.

9.Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, United States – 58.5 million passengers.

10. Hong Kong International Airport, HongKong – 53.6 million passengers.
