Fans Threaten To Boycott Ykee Benda If He Sings For President Museveni

Singer Ykee Benda Shies Away From Contesting For Kira Parliamentary Seat

Musician Tugume Wycliffe alias Ykee Benda has backtracked from his earlier intentions of contesting for the Kira Municipality parliamentary seat.

The singer through his social media pages had severally expressed his desire to dislodge Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.

Ykee Benda however has now coiled and retracted his intentions. Asked about his intentions, the singer said that he was just born in Kira. And since his father is still alive in the same area, there’s no way he can be a leader.

He said he doesn’t know what the future holds and whether he will be in leadership, especially politics. However, he knows that some MPs there are doing nothing for their people and will be ousted one day.

“I’m not going to Parliament so people should stop asking me whether I’m interested in politics. I was just born in Kira and I’m not a leader there. I’m just a leader in many other things but not politics,” he said.

The singer meanwhile provided an update about his school, Golden High School. Apparently, Unilever gave the students some humpers including bags, Geisha soap and OMO detergent.

The singer added that they have gotten a well-wisher who is also going to paint the school for free.

Furthermore, the Mpaka Records boss addressed the help the Speaker Hon Anita Among promised him.

He said that part of this already arrived and the rest is in the process of being achieved. He said that the school aims to promote the talents of the learners besides academics.
