Youth Participating In Government Programs Tipped By Micro Finance Support Centre

The youth have been cautioned to take up opportunities in government programs to set them free from poverty. The Uganda Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) made this appeal to the youth after realizing the low numbers participating.

The message came during the celebrations of Kamwokya Youth Centre. The executive director of MSC representative Mr James Muhwezi delivered the message.

He revealed the intentions of the MSC to talk to the youth about their journey towards the eradication of poverty. He also reiterated the need to work really hard on their development so that the government can take them to the next level.

“This is the same thing we did with emyooga. We want to encourage you to work hard. I commend the efforts of the youth mechanics, women entrepreneurs, emyooga elected youth leaders, among others in their efforts of bringing youth together for a common goal,” he said.

He explained that the government knows how hard it is for the youths to acquire the securities that are needed by banks. He, therefore, said it is the reason why they put in place the MSC to help youths with SACCOS.

Additionally, he said these SACCOS would help the youths to save and come up with their own finances for development. Muhwezi advised them to engage in productive work and avoid being idle.

MSC officials took a tour of the exhibitions at the event of the youths they have supported before in their associations and SACCOS. On their side, different groups also commended MSC for supporting their programs in Kamwokya.
