The Zambian president, HE Edgar Lungu on Monday fired army commander and his deputy, something unsual sacking the top military officers in the country.

He never gave reasons why he sacked Lt-General Mihova Paul, but he warned his successor, Sikazwe William not to misuse the authority of the office and to always give respect to the ruling body.
The Zambian army is commonly known in Africa for having very disciplined army officers and I therefore expect you to always maintain the discipline,’’Zambian president, Edgar Lungu informed the new army commander a few minutes after swearing him in.
Always make a priority reminding both men and women in uniforms that discipline is all about respecting the ruling body, but I don’t expect anyone to misuse the power of responsibility,’’he said.
