4 People Dead After Protesters Attack The US Capitol Building

The Capitol Building has once again been secured but four people have been reported dead including a woman who was shot. The attack on the Capitol Building happened after rioters stormed into the halls of Congress to try and block Biden’s win.

Trump supporters breached the building and dissolved the nation’s capital in chaos that was later contained and the building secured. President Donald Trump urged his supporters to fight against the ceremonial counting of electoral votes that will confirm Joe Biden’s win.

The protesters who breached the barriers set around the Capitol Building called the officers traitors for doing their jobs. The protesters got into the building and doors to the House and Senate were locked. Shortly after that, the police evacuated the House floor.

Vice President Mike Pence was also evacuated from the chamber; he was there to perform his role in the counting of the electoral votes.

The woman who was shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds and died is yet to be identified by DC police. Further details on the shooting were not immediately availed but a police spokesperson said additional details will come later.

DC Police Chief Robert Contee said three other people died from medical emergencies during the riot.
‘’One adult female and two adult males appear to have suffered from separate medical emergencies, which resulted in their deaths.

Any loss of life in the district is tragic and our thoughts are with anyone impacted by their loss’’. Contee said at a news conference.
