But more than a quarter of its total population is unemployed surviving on less than $1.25 a day.
(7) Libya – $11,497 ( GDP ) per capita:
Libya was ranked the 7th richest country in Africa because of its largest oil sector that brings in huge revenues each year and this makes it to have an upper middle economy with its small population.
(8) Tunisia – $9,900 ( GDP ) per capita:
Tunisia was ranked the 8th richest country in Africa because of its booming tourism, manufacturing and mining sector aswell as different cultural experience that has attracted western tourists.
(9) Namibia – $8,200 ( GDP ) per capita:
Namibia was ranked the 9th richest country in Africa because of its production of high quality minerals like diamond which has dominated the economy.
(10) Algeria – $7,500 ( GDP ) per capita:
Algeria was ranked the 10th richest country in Africa because of its largest oil production which makes 70 percent of the country’s total budget. Algeria is also one of the suppliers of mineral resources such as copper, mercury, iron and zinc.
