This African Country Has The Highest Number Of Students In U.S

John Bray, the United States Consul General earlier this week in the capital of this West African Country said that currently over 11,700 students from Nigeria study in the US, for that huge number, the West Africa Country becomes the twelfth in the world and first in Sub-Saharan Africa.

John who made comments during the pre-departure orientation for students in Nigeria going to United States for studies said that in comparison to previous year, the number introduces a 9.7 percent growth. For the past 7 years, the number of Nigerians studying in US has been increasing, ‘’he said.

According to John, from over one million International students in America, 35,364 come from Nigeria and some other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, according to Vanguard ngr.

According to John’s breakdown of over 11,700 Nigerian students, 49.5% are undergraduate, 2% are non-degree candidates, 36.2% are degree holder students and the rest that make up the 12.3% are on Optional Practical Training.

Nigerian students attend in 800 institutions!

Nigerian tutees in United States study in approximately 800 schools within the fifty States. Texas is the famous State with 1,540 tutees, whereas the most famous University / College is Houston Community College with 220 Nigerian students.

The major reason why there’s a great increase of Nigerian students in the United States is the fact that Nigerians prefer quality education, I am excited to say that recognized Universities and Colleges in United States provide quality education, ‘’he said.

He advised all tuteess to utilize the opportunity to represent their beloved country, Nigeria in any way they can, You might probably be the only Nigerian most Americans reach out to, in that case, you’re a representative of Nigeria as a whole.
