These busiest airports are measured basing on the annual amount of both domestic and international passenger traffic passing through the airport to their destinations either as transit passengers, departures or arrivals. O.R Tambo International airport in South Africa has been leading the list for many years now, it is Africa’s number one largest and busiest airport serving more than 19 million passengers every year, according to Wikipedia.

5. Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Nigeria – 7,561,507 passengers.

6. Hurghada International Airport, Egypt – 7,225,936 passengers.

7. Houari Boumediene Airport, Algeria- 6,460,000 passengers.

8. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Kenya – 6,348,635 passengers.

9. Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, Egypt – 6,239,021 passengers.

10. Tunis-Carthage Airport, Tunisia – 5,146,000 passengers.
