Musician Patrick Mulwana aka Alien Skin has opened up about the real reason he’s joining politics. The singer has been making airwaves over his proposed move to form a political party known as Fangon Unity Platform (FUP).
In fact this was launched a few days ago at his Fangon Forest headquarters in Makindye. And according to the singer, there are lots of things to rectify in Uganda. The Party singer said that Uganda can’t be the US or the UK. And neither can those countries but all that can be done is correcting the wrong so that the comparisons can begin.
Furthermore, the singer said that he grew up looking up to Bobi Wine and even used to mime his songs. Therefore, since the NUP boss is his idol, he decided to join him into politics. He cheekily added that just as he sang, he was born to give his haters a headache (twazalibwa kubalumya mitwe).
“Uganda cannot be the UK or the US. Those countries also can’t fit in Uganda. We just have to correct what is wrong in our country. Advise those who are doing something wrong instead of abusing them. Slowly they will master it but if you insult them, they will just run away.”
“Growing up, I also used to look up to Bobi Wine. I used to mime his songs. And since he’s my role model, I have decided to follow him into politics,” the singer said.
Apparently his fans have been clashing with NUP fans. This all started after the singer refused to worship Bobi Wine which was seen as disrespectful by his fanatics. They resorted to insulting and abusing Alien Skin reminding him how they made him. But this hasn’t deterred him from standing his ground and hitting back.
