The president seemed to be referring to the former Vision Group CEO. Kabushenga took to social media and said that all he has been doing has been to save his country.
Speaking at a national address last night, President Museveni said that he was warning all the people who are de-campaigning the value addition program of coffee. He added that he knows them and they are just imperialistic puppets.
This therefore should stop. According to Museveni, there are even others who are fighting the refinery. They want Uganda to continue importing used goods but he won’t let this happen.
“I want to warn people who have been de-campaigning our coffee value addition move. We know them; agents of imperialism. They want us to keep importing raw coffee and dead people’s clothes. That should stop,” said the President.
Apparently, this saw Kabushenga quote the President’s message. He said that Mr Museveni seems to have forgotten where he came from. And whoever does such a thing always ends up badly. Besides there are facts and history that have proven a catastrophic ending for such people.
“Fellow Ugandans, Baganda in their infinite wisdom say that a person who will not be advised sets sail in a clay boat. We, Abakiga know that water can boil all it wants but it must never forget that it comes from a cold place. The facts speak for themselves. And history bears us out.
I now rest my case. I will leave the rest to your good judgment.
Everything I have said, everything I have done is For God & My Country.”
It should be noted that Kabushenga has been exposing the rot and corruption in the coffee sector. A one Tugume Nelson was singled out by the former Vision Group MD.
Nelson who has close ties to State House received billions of shillings from the government meant for the entire sector. However, somehow the money ended up in his personal account as per Kabushenga.
