Many are in sorrow and mourning the death of their colleague even though the cause of death has not yet been established. The burial of the deceased will take place today in Butambala.
In the past two weeks, the Kyambogo University fraternity also lost a finalist and Warden of North Hall, the late Mr. Gabriel Okeny. The warden passed on last Friday.
In a related case, a Makerere law student made news on Twitter last year after she committed suicide. Natasha Byengyeru, first posted alarming posts on her different social media platforms.
Most of the people thought she was probably looking for likes when she threatened to commit suicide. Tasha’s cause of suicide is currently not known though some say she was going through depression.
In her first post, she asked for help using her Twitter handle. After a while, she posted something about suicide, and maybe those who reached out did so but late.
“Anyone please tell me the easiest way to commit suicide 😭😭😭😭. I can’t take it anymore 😭😭😭” her post read.
After a while, she posted a set of tablets that she supposedly used to commit suicide. Before this though, there were a lot of posts on her WhatsApp status that people took lightly maybe.
These and many more are the kind of student deaths that authorities have since failed to explain.
