Kasuku, a Dembe FM radio presenter, has urged artistes to learn how to do stand-alone concerts. He says it’s not logical for posters to show that the concert is going to start at 8:00pm and then the main artiste shows up on stage at 10:00pm.
According to him, this is mishandling fans because their reason for always showing up for the show is to watch the main artiste.
He says artistes here should learn from those in the western world. Usually, artistes in Europe don’t have artistes lined up in their shows.
An artiste makes sure he stands on stage for close to three hours entertaining fans. For the ladies who love to change outfits, it’s always done in a creative way without them necessarily going off stage.
In Uganda however, the main artiste shows up an hour to the end of the show which is not right. So much time is spent on showcasing new talent and other big artistes at the expense of the money of the fans.
Kasuku says if such things are not rectified, people will lose interest in attending Ugandan shows. This will obviously have dire consequences on the music industry.
Kasuku however commended artistes like Juliana who always endeavors to do stand-alone shows. This is probably why however expensive her shows are, people show up.
This is because they know that they are going to have the best of her. It’s just about time a lot of things changed in the music industry of Uganda.
Azawi’s recent concert
In separate news by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, NBS journalist, Samson Kasumba, has commended Azawi for having a successful concert on Friday. His highlight was that Azawi was decently dressed and all she sold to the people was her music.
