Kasuku in a local TV interview told Chameleone that athletes are way bigger than musicians in terms of national importance.
This followed Chameleone’s message to Michael Nuwagira Toyota, Museveni’s brother. The Forever singer told Toyota to tell president Museveni to think about rewarding musicians with medals.
This is because they have done a lot in raising the Ugandan flag. However, all the medals are thrown toward athletes.
However according to Kasuku, even though musicians represent countries abroad, it’s more of a private business. This is unlike athletes who are sent by the country for representation.
Kasuku, therefore, thinks athletes deserve all the plaudits they receive.
He also said that the medals Chameleone is crying for lost value because they are given to even those that don’t deserve them.
“Chameleone shouldn’t compare himself to athletes. These are sent by the country to represent it unlike musicians who majorly go for private business. You can literally tell the influence of an athlete when a national anthem is played or when the national flag is raised, it’s just emotional. Besides, the medal Chameleone is crying for lost value and meaning. They are now given even to those that don’t deserve them,” Kasuku said.
Furthermore, Kasuku said that the only medal Chameleone is deserving is a doctorate. At least this is well researched and somehow contains value.
The radio personality however said that since behavior is put into context while awarding this, Chameleone might fail to get it.
This is because his behavior track record is disturbing. Kasuku is however confident that the singer will receive a medal on the next Heroes day. He added that this shouldn’t be refuted.
