Barcelona Manager Hansi Flick Praises Hat-trick Hero Raphinha, Says He’s Never Coached Such A Player

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has heaped praise on hat-trick hero Raphinha Dias. He said that he has never coached a player as determined as the Brazilian. This is after the former Leeds winger netted a hat-trick against Bayern Munich.

Barcelona who were playing at home found the net first through the former Leeds United winger in the first minute of the game. However, the Bavarians equalized through Harry Kane in the 18th minute.

Barcelona was 3-1 before halftime as former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski put the hosts into the lead in the 36th minute before Raphinha added a third and his second of the night in the 45th minute.

In the second half, Raphinha completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute as his low-driven shot glided past Bayern’s keeper, Manuel Neur. This eventually put the game out of Vincent Kompany’s team’s reach.

In the post-match conference, Flick was full of praise for his captain of the day. Despite having worked with some world-class footballers, especially through his time at Bayern and the German national team, the manager said that he’s never had a player of the Brazilian’s caliber.

“I have never had a player like Raphinha in any of my teams. He gives his all. Raphinha puts his heart into it. With and without the ball, he is very good, he always starts the pressing, and finishes our chances. He is always smiling”.

This was the 8th goal for the 27-year-old this season in what is turning out to be a stellar campaign. He has also recorded 8 assists. Raphinha will be hoping to carry this form into Saturday’s El Clasico.

The intense game will see Real Madrid host their rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu. It should be noted that another Brazilian in Vini Jr scored a hat trick a day earlier. Therefore there is a lot at stake in this game.
