They both organized different media briefings on the same day which will happen today.
The two plan on addressing varying allegations against each other as the one-time largest opposition party goes into shambles.
Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, the party spokesperson, along with other colleagues, accused the party Secretary-General Nandala Mafabi of working with the state.
This happened during a national consultative meeting organized by a group led by Ssemujju. The party’s deputy president Erias Lukwago also joined him in the organization of the party without approval from the president.
Amuriat and Nandala Mafabi are accused of taking money from the ruling party during the 2021 election period. However, both parties have since denied these “baseless” allegations.
Amuriat will hold his press conference at the party’s headquarters located in Najjanankumbi. As for Besigye, he will hold his meeting at Katonga road and both will happen at 11 am.
