Bobi Wine Applauds Joel Ssenyonyi For His Works In COSASE Committee

The President of the National Unity Platform, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, has applauded the party’s spokesperson Hon Joel Ssenyonyi who happens to be the chairman of the Committee on Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

Kyagulanyi in his tweet thanked Ssenyonyi for exposing the corruption in the regime.

He even joked that if anyone is nearby him, they should give Ssenyonyi Shs 10,000 on his behalf and he would refund it.

“My friends, who is near @JoelSsenyonyi give him 10,000 shillings, I will give it back. Super proud of you comrade. Expose those thieves my comrade,” tweeted Bobi Wine.

This saw Ssenyonyi take to the same tweet to reveal that indeed Bobi Wine’s call had been heeded by some people. And among these was Barbie Kyagulanyi who sent the Nakawa west MP the 10k.

It wasn’t only just Barbie that sent Ssenyonyi the money but many others. At first he thought that it was a mistake not until he read Bobi Wine’s tweet.

He added that he’s thankful of Bobi Wine’s appreciation and they will surely continue playing their part as NUP.

“Ssebo President, when I woke I found 10k from First Lady @BarbieItungoK and some other people, so I thought this must be a mistake of sorts…kumbe commander waddumide. Thank you Sir for the kind remarks, we’ll keep playing our part. Kakati Mama Gianna mutwala ko out lero,” replied Ssenyonyi.

It should be noted that Ssenyonyi and his COSASE committee have been grilling the Uganda Airlines board especially the CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki for the corruption at the airlines.

A lot of discrepancies have been unraveled in the national entity. Among these was the enormous salaries disbursed to the staff there especially the top hierarchy.

This week saw the Committe conclude their long month probe following the Auditor General’s report in Financial Year 2020/2021. The Committee will write its report in regards to the matter and table it before Parliament for debate.

Among the other headlines was a contract signed between the Airlines and the Independent Digital Online Journalists’ Association (INDOJA).

This was to provide public relations and media services at Shs117 million. However, the Airlines lawyer didn’t know about this contract and termed it irregular.
