Bobi Wine Charged With Treason, He Faces Court

Robert Kyagulanyi AKA Bobi Wine, an MP in Kyadondo East and Arua Municipality candidate, Kassiano Wadri  have been charged with treason for causing public nuisance among the people, and more so charged with the unlawful acts they started off while in Arua that led to loss of someone’s life.

Not only causing a-lot tragedy among people, Bobi Wine and his fellow, Kassiano were pinned out for destroying the government property, name the destroyed car that was among the convoys to the President. Yesterday morning, President Museveni used his official Facebook and announced that Bobi Wine and his fellow opposition members were responsible all these damages.

Bobi Wine and Kassiano arrested.

Shockingly, these two MPs were put behind bars after discovering two sub-machine guns in their hotel room at Pacific Hotel, which caused more cases on them. However, Uganda Police also recovered 46 tablets believed to be drugs, and a pistol that was found with Kassiano.

The other items included 3 Ugandan flags, six red T-shirts, 10 smartphones, a GPR machine, only to mention, but all we know is that they were not legalized to hold these items. Bobi Wine was arrested on Monday and Kassiano Wadri on Tuesday.

On behalf of Bobi Wine’s management, they updated this information.

On behalf of Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, we congratulate Hon. Kassiano Wadri and the People of Arua Municipality for this yet another outstanding victory in this election despite gross levels of intimidation, provocation and untold violence at the behest of the state. Thank you Arua for reclaiming your voice! As Hon. Kyagulanyi constantly teaches us, People Power is bigger than the People in Power. You have proved it again.

Earlier today, in too much pain and grief, we laid to rest our dear friend and comrade, Kawuma Yasin. His senseless murder in cold blood deserves continued condemnation from all citizens of good will.

We are still very concerned about Bobi’s health and condition. While we demanded for answers from the state about his arrest, torture and illegal detention, news came out that he is being arraigned in the military court tomorrow for alleged illegal possession of firearms. This is laughable and absurd! Government also said that Bobi is currently in hospital and we have not been told what happened to him. Before his arrest, he was in perfect health. Till now, we have been denied access to him. At the same time, disturbing images revealing the level of torture exerted on Hon. Zaake Francis left many citizens in shock. Our legal teams are handling these matters and we hope the state will give them due cooperation to ensure that the ends of justice are met.

Tomorrow, we shall come up with a detailed statement. For now, we continue to demand that Hon. Kyagulanyi and his colleagues are released immediately and unconditionally. They did not commit any crime.
