Bobi Wine wants action taken against the Ugandan government which perpetrates this gross human rights abuse. This followed the release of the NUP registrar from Kasese district, Samuel Masereka.
According to NUP spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi, gun wielding men 3 weeks ago kidnapped Masereka and two others.
They took them to CMI in Mbuya and SIU in Kireka. They later released the trio but in a sickening situation.
“Samuel Masereka, NUP’s coordinator in Kasese & 2 mobilisers(Tembo Hamza & Alazarius Bisogho) were arrested 3 weeks ago by gun wielding men in a drone, taken to CMI Mbuya & later SIU Kireka. They were released on bond, dropped by a similar drone in Kasese & this is the state in which he is!!!,” Ssenyonyi tweeted.
Bobi Wine also took to his Twitter page to condemn this gross abuse of human rights.
While at CMI, they charged the two with subversive activities. They then dropped them in Kasese by the same drone that captured them weeks ago.
Masereka’s body is full of wounds and cuts. The pictures are really appalling and sickening to look at. They however not allow to talk or show the pictures to the press.
It was from this that the former presidential candidate tagged agencies like the United Nations Human Rights Commission. The singer turned politician added that it’s time such agencies stop looking on and took action.
The infamous “drones” have kidnapped many people since the post 2021 general elections. Most of these have been from the Opposition especially NUP.
However, they have done nothing yet as all that flies around is words and zero action.
