Ugandan legendary singer and Leone Island boss Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Jose Chameleone got very disappointed after losing elections for Kampala Lord Mayorship.
The ‘Wale Wale’ Hit maker was confident that he was going to win the Kampala Lord Mayor seat basing on the fact that he is among the most popular musicians in the country.
He counted loses after losing in the much-anticipated Kampala Lord Mayor elections last month. His defeat was not well received by many people including some of his family members and fellow celebrities.
Jose Chameleone had a lot of confidence and believed it was the right time for the youth to take over leadership. He was inspired by fellow legendary musician turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi.
The singer lost to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Erias Lukwago who was defending his seat.
He claims his votes were tampered with by some greedy candidates who were scared of his popularity.
“I didn’t fail as you claim but my votes were tampered with. I got massive votes from the people because I am loved,” he said in an interview with local TV station.
He promised to come back to the music industry and will also put his concentration on his new Television station.
