BREAKING NEWS: Human Rights Lawyer And Activist Nicholas Opiyo Arrested

Popular Ugandan Human rights lawyer and activist Nicholas Opiyo arrested by security in Kampala this afternoon, Newslex Point has learnt.

Sources reveal that security authorities picked Opiyo from Lamaro restaurant in Kamwokya. He had just had lunch with colleagues and was chatting when security operatives handcuffed. They soon sped off with Opiyo to an unknown destination.

Family sources suspect members of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) to have picked Nicholas Opiyo.

The lawyer’s friends say he is a vocal critique of the ruling government and they believe this as the reason for his arrest. We can not however confirm this as this is a developing story.

We will return with details….
