Aristide Sasha, who is a 29 year old nurse, spent 3 years planning for the wedding with her one and only lover identified as Hyppolite Kevin, without knowing the humiliating experience that would bang her so hard on the day of reckoning.
Sasha met Kevin, an office manager, 10 years ago and instantly connected. In 2017 December, the couple agreed to marry each other and began wedding plans which would cost UgSh70 million.
Everything moved on smoothly with Sasha continuously in touch with Kevin to make sure nothing is left pending.
The wedding was supposed to take place in July 2020. The two remained faithful to each other and nothing fired up Sasha’s mind to suspect any playful misbehavior.
On the wedding day, the bride and her entourage had dressed to the nines knowing the road was smooth.
She waited at the alter where they would exchange their special vows. Unfortunately, Kevin didn’t show up. His excuse was that his Uber had delayed to pick him up. The bride kept pacing around the altar in anticipation of her groom’s arrival, but nothing happened.
She got concerned when her decorator called to inform her that they had been stopped from accessing the venue.
“My florist called and told me that the venue had not allowed her in to set up the flowers,” Aristide told RealFix.
Another call from one of the bridesmaids notified Sasha that there was no wedding scheduled to take place at the said venue. This was a shocker for the bride.
Nevertheless, she still got ready with her six bridesmaids and maid of honor after the groom assuring her everything would be sorted as he was on the way coming.
A simple phone call soon revealed that the actual wedding venue had not received part of the payment and the event was long cancelled.
“I had no clue whatsoever that he was not planning to show up or having cold feet. I spoke to him the night before, he literally said ‘I love you and I can’t wait to marry you.’ … We were talking the whole day.
‘I realised at 2:30pm and at that point, I didn’t have any emotions. I was so numb and in shock. I felt like I was in a trance,” recalled the teary Sasha as quoted by New York Post.
At this point it had become clear to her that the wedding was not anywhere close to happening. Heart-broken, Sasha had no choice but to go back home and nurse the pain that came with the shocking incident.
Kevin thought to use time as a healing factor; he waited a whole week for Sasha’s pain to subside and then decided to reach out. But like they say, some broken records can be undone. The would-be husband still kept denying that he intentionally stood up the woman he had known for 10 years on their wedding day.
“it just happened that way”. “It wasn’t intentional, it wasn’t planned, it just happened that way,” said Kevin when reached for a comment.
