The cabinet recorded progress in execution of withdraw, tracing, restoration and resettlement of street children, and the goals of the ongoing execution of the street children action plan and this required the cabinet to approve Shs5.8 billion to carry out the systematic plan that was undertaken in June 2018,’said Ms Florence.

Ms Florence noted that in 2018, the gender labour and social development ministry had appealed for additional funding of Shs3.4 billion and agreed that it will take place every year.

She however said the ministry of finance released only Shs1 billion and left the pending balance of Shs2.4 billion totaling to Shs5.8 billion.

Ms Florence said failure to release the whole amount sabotaged the execution of the program which begun in June by ministry of labour in partnership with KCCA.

We only received a small percentage out of Shs3.4 billion which could not achieve the entire goals as we initially planned,’she said.
