Chameleone Should Be Named Musicians President – Wisdom Kaye

Controversial and motor mouthed music analyst Wisdom Kaye has come out to say that Leone Island boss Jose Chameleone should be made president of musicians in Uganda.

Kaye attributed this to Chameleone’s honesty which is difficult to find in many musicians.

A few days ago, Chameleone together with other artistes announced they had formed the Uganda Music Federation.

They elected Chameleone as president, he has started his work already.

Many musicians that subscribe to Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) did not welcome this move.

They accuse Chameleone’s group of selfishness and greed especially after Gen Salim Saleh promised the music industry some money.

Some UMA members have vowed to fight Chameleone’s group and they won’t accept him to ruled them.

Others however have a soft spot for the legendary singer and his group and have said they might join him if the federation is legal.

Chameleone while unveiling the federation’s constitution said they were willing to work with other organizations to advance Ugandan music.

Chameleone said that all these groups should accept and join his new federation.

Wisdom Kaye while appearing on NBS After 5 program said that Chameleone is one of the few honest musicians he has ever come across.

He added that his lobbying skills were great which will enable the music fraternity to gain alot from different stake holders.

“Chameleon has grown and he’s no longer the Chameleone of 20-30 years. I have worked with some top musicians such as Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Radio & Weasel but I can testify that among them, Chameleone has never run away with anyone’s money. He’s also good at lobbying and this will help the industry a lot. These associations for musicians should all accept to be led by Jose Chameleon.” Kaye said.

He added saying that Chameleon’s maturity will land him the mayoral seat in 2026 should he decide to come back.

The “Katupakase” singer miserably lost to incumbent Erias Lukwago in the mayoral seat held a few months back.

Many hugely attribute to his earlier years in the music industry. In his early years, Chameleone was unreliable, controversial and just like his name, he changed all the time.

People therefore felt that he was not dependable for such a big political office.
