Chief Justice Was Supposed To Apologize To Ugandans By Resigning – Mubarak Munyagwa

Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa has said the Chief Justice, Owiny Dollo was supposed to not only apologize to Buganda but to Ugandans as well.

He says Owiny owes Ugandans an apology by resigning from his office. According to Mubarak, Owiny can’t be impartial anymore, therefore he shouldn’t keep his position as Chief Justice.

“After Owiny Dollo’s statements, how can he still head the Judiciary? He can’t be impartial. Wonders in Uganda never seem to end. The tribalistic statements Chief Justice Owiny Dollo made were enough for him to resign from the Chief Justice position. Chief Justice apologizing to the Kabaka wasn’t enough. He was supposed to apologize to Ugandans by resigning.”

Chief Justice made remarks that came off as tribalistic during the vigil of the late Oulanyah. Many Ugandans lashed out at him, especially on social media and put him under pressure until he came out to apologize.

He not only apologized in a statement but also went to meet the Kabaka of Buganda to make his apology formal.

For some people, this was heroic and mature on the part of the Chief Justice. However, some people asked for more like him resigning from his office because they can’t trust him anymore.

However, he has successfully ignored all this talk going on and decided to concentrate on his work.
