The very first time it actually seems like you’re minding your business just to later realize you are affected as well. Know when to keep quiet and know when to actually speak up. Not only should you speak up but also show the oppressor that he/she is wrong. Certain times call for you to be aggressive especially if boundaries have crossed. This is because when you choose silence, you will be the next victim.
Take an example of a relationship gone bad, where you honestly see things are not working out. Why would you choose to fold your arms and look on, isn’t that wasting time? Speak up, talk to your partner and tell them the relationship is suffocating. Say everything as it is in your heart, it will help you not to regret a thing when you’re alone.
Don’t neutralize wrong ideas, suffocate feelings while believing things will get better. It is true things will get better but they only will when you vehemently condemn them. It is your right to take sides, it is your right to have your opinion but in all this make sure you’re clear on which side you fall on.
