Cindy Should Represent Indecent Artistes – Full Figure

The former Blue3 female musician Cinderella Sanyu known by her stage names Cindy Sanyu was surprisingly sworn in as the new vice president of Uganda Musician Association (UMA). She replaces fellow musician Ykee Benda whose real names are Wycliff Tugume.

Talking about the ‘Boom Party’ Hit maker’s appointment, Jenipher Nakanguubi popularly known as Full Figure criticized and doubted her capability to lead the musician’s association.

Cindy Sanyu’s appointment angered Full Figure who advised her to represent the association consisting only the obscene artistes.

For the time being, she praised Ykee Benda whom she said will uplift the music industry for the better. Furthermore, Full Figure said YKee will be better than his predecessor Sophi Gombya.

UMA which is licensed by National Union of Creative Performing Artistes and Allied Workers (NUCPAAW),was formed to promote, protect and preserve Ugandan music. In addition, UMA also advocates for the music industry, public and media.

Sophi Gombya took her role as the president of Uganda Musicians Association in May 2019.

According to Ykee Benda, the president of the Uganda Musicians Association, Cindy has been a fighter and has always worked hard to represent the needs of artistes.

“Cindy is a fighter and a very strong person. I remember she was among the people that fought for artistes during the save Uganda music campaign,” he revealed.

Ykee Benda also said Cindy was voted to this position by other artistes. She was standing against Mary Bata.

He adds that together with Cindy, they will be able to fight the newly introduced regulations against musicians.
