Coronavirus Deaths Near 200,000 In The US As London Risks New Curbs

Coronavirus related deaths in the United States have soared to near 200,000. The nation’s new cases also rose in line with the one week average. The US expects one more cycle of the virus in fall and in winter before they can totally have it under control.

Wisconsin surpassed the 100,000 mark in coronavirus cases showing an increase in infections in the Midwest. The state recorded 1665 new cases on Sunday. This brought the total cases to 101,227. The increase however, dropped less than 2000 for the first time in 4 days.

Meanwhile, the UK chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty is set to warn the public on Monday that they are at a critical point. The warning comes amidst speculations of local restrictions that could be extended to London due to the surge of the virus.

Amidst all the fiasco, a northeastern Chinese district of Changchun discovered coronavirus on frozen food. In a statement released on Sunday, the local government said the frozen squid tentacles were sent in from Russia. Authorities have reminded citizens to be vigilant when it comes to imported foods.

China, the origin of the coronavirus reported 12 new coronavirus cases for September 20th. All these cases are imported. No deaths were recorded. However, one keeps asking how the origin of a world pandemic is already open and everything is going on normally.

Markets, bars and restaurants are crowded again, are people letting their guard down so soon?
