Cristiano Ronaldo is to have an airport in Madeira named after him following his and Portugal’s success at Euro 2016.[9]

Miguel Albuquerque, the president of Madeira,[4] has confirmed that the island’s main airport will be renamed the Madeira Cristiano Ronaldo airport.
The 31-year-old already has a bronze statue,[2] a museum and a hotel named after him in Funchal – his birthplace and the capital of Madeira.
The Real Madrid star is reportedly back on the island after holidaying in Ibiza ahead of the new La Liga season.[9]

He returned to Funchal on Friday to visit family and officially open his new five-star hotel called Hotel Pestana CR7.[1]
Ronaldo, advised by agent Jorge Mendes,[8] has a number of business interests away from football including his own clothing line and fragrance.[12]
