The 43-year-old rapper conceded after his self-styled ‘’Birthday Party’’ collected just 60,000 votes out of an estimated 160 million people.
Apparently, the POTUS is still not known however much Biden is in the lead. But when it comes to who will not be the next US president, it clearly is Kanye West.
However, West’s political struggle is not yet over. Earlier this week, he took to his Twitter and wrote, ‘’KANYE 2024’’ signaling another bid to come four years from now.
Kanye West appeared on the ballot paper in only 12 states in his first presidential attempt, missing the filing deadline in most others. Most of his 60,000 votes were gathered from Tennessee where he got 10,188, a state that mostly favors Republican candidates.
After his presidential bid announcement in July, West said that his platform was modeled off Wakanda, a fictional kingdom from the Black Panther movie. When he was asked about the party name, he said, “Because when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday party.’’
Posts on Twitter by West urging followers to write his name on ballots incited a lot of criticism. Many were claiming that his actual intention was to syphon votes away from the legitimate candidates.
