Divine Bamboo To Train Women In Briquettes Making

In a strategic plan to promote usage of briquettes as source of energy for cooking instead of wood charcoal, Divine Bamboo limited has unveiled plans to train women both in urban and rural areas on how to make  cheap briquettes.

Divine Bamboo Chief Executive officer Divine Nabaweesi revealed this at the side line of company donation of charcoal briquettes to supplement government food relief at office of the prime minister.

She said the briquettes donation will help women in slums who cannot afford charcoal during the lock down to cook food they received from government.

“When we conducted a market survey urban areas, we realized that most homes in slums cannot afford charcoal besides having basic necessity like food during the lock down and it’s on thus basis that we decided to donate free charcoal briquettes to government to give it to the vulnerable group during this Corona virus lock down ,”said Nabaweesi.

According to statistics from ministry of energy close to 90%of Ugandans are not connected to national electricity grid while few people have adopted solar power sources.
