Apparently, he spoke to some of the NRM members and they are supporting FDC candidate Moses Attan. This is because the initial candidate NRM had staged is not the same person in the same race this time round.
“The mistake NRM made was to give the party flag to a different candidate. The party flagbearer in the 2021 General Election and the section of the people that support him are now saying they won’t rally behind the new candidate, and this works for us.”
He says this division is doing them good as FDC plus the support of the National Unity Platform.
“Yesterday we had a meeting with a section of NRM people who are supporting Attan. Such divisions within NRM are giving us (FDC) an upper hand. I am very grateful for our brothers in NUP. We are working together in Soroti. And I know the situation is going to be different from what happened in Omoro. This by-election is unique.”
Olanya says after the support he witnessed during the campaigns, he is sure Attan is going to be sent back to Parliament.
According to him Soroti has already spoken, the only thing left is to show this on the ballot paper as they did in 2021.
