Several Ugandans including celebrities such as Juliana Kanyomozi, Eddy Kenzo, Patrick Salvado have been drumming support for her. However, not everyone’s is appreciative of her efforts and the two media personalities happened to be among.
Taking to his X page, Fat Boy said that other countries are prioritizing bigger initiatives. These include building and sending rockets to space yet Ugandans want to indulge in non stop cooking. Besides, her record will soon be broken according to the radio personality.
“I agree with these guys that we need to move on from cook-a-thons. Others are building rockets to space meanwhile we want praise for just cooking non-stop. Whatever record she breaks will be broken in a few weeks by another idle person somewhere on the continent. Let’s move on, Africa!.”
For DJ Nimrod, he wanted to make jokes about the food. He said that with all honesty the food doesn’t taste well because it lacks enough salt in it. It’s like the Galaxy FM presenter had opened a can of worms.
Criticism started rolling his way. Despite a few agreeing with these two, the majority criticized them as they asked for their achievements.
Apparently, Mama D who has her cooking base in Kira is on the verge of breaking this Cook-a-thon record held by Alan Fisher from Ireland.
It stands at 119 hours, 57 minutes and 16 seconds and was set in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023. Previously, it had been held by Nigeria’s Hilda Baci at 93 hours 11 minutes.
However, there is another Ghanaian known as Abdul Razak aiming to break the record starting from 1-5 January 2024.
