The Chupa ku Chupa singer says that the goal is to promote Ugandan music. Therefore, they should avoid such unnecessary comparisons which might brew bad blood amongst artistes.
A Pass further says that if anyone still insists and wants to do a comparison, then he should compare him to Canadian American rapper Drake.
“If you are my fan or a Ugandan music lover, don’t compare me to any Ugandan artist. The focus should be put on promoting Ugandan music. And if the comparison thing is still lingering in your mind, please compare me to Drake. Ok and Thank you Bye Bye,” A pass said.
Well, this seems like a big request from the singer towards his fans and all those concerned. Despite the market being big for all singers, fans have always decided to pick sides.
And with the influx of politics into the music industry, A Pass’ plea is unlikely to materialize.
Musicians themselves for a long time have called for unity in the industry urging each other to copy from the Nigerians.
But with the different desires and interests of each individual, the industry still lags behind.
However, credit goes to comparison for the rise of Ugandan music especially in the era of Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone.
