The President said it’s now illegal to board any transport means without a vaccination card. Tina Fierce however is skeptical about the effectiveness of this because of the procedure of getting the card.
“Wait a damn minute! Now we have to move with our vaccination cards? Same people, who tell us come pick it next week “ziwedewo”? Dnt start something you can’t handle implementing.”
Today, on behalf of the ministry of transport, the government of Uganda used social media to announce the enforcement of the President’s directive.
“As public transport resumes full capacity operation today, the State Minister for Transport has directed operators to enforce the wearing of masks and scrutinize vaccination cards before passengers board vehicles.”
Several Ugandans have reacted to this in different ways but mostly negatively. Most people are complaining that much as they are doing this, some taxis are still cheating passengers and government is looking on.
Prices in some places are still the same despite the 100% capacity back on board.
“The passengers are still being cheated..the boarding prices are still unchanged!! We are being exploited,” a one Taiso Timothy reacted.
If not anything, the minister of works and transport, Katumba Wamala should speak to the country. They need to guide the nation on how they are going to run things.
