This is to enable candidates there to have means of transport to get to schools in time for their final level exams.
This ban caused physical paralysis on the first day of the exams which started yesterday after many learners reached late. This, therefore, forced schools to kick off the examinations late as well.
One of the parents, Joseph Kiwanuka, in Mubende said his daughter, a student at Global Secondary School arrived late. He said this happened because she had no transport means yet they live far from her school.
Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the ICT minister told reporters that the government had no idea some students come from far.
According to him, officials are set to meet to decide on whether to give learners special permits which will allow them to use bodabodas.
However, he also asked schools to give more time to the students who arrive late to school because this is not caused by them.
President Museveni recently imposed a 21-day lockdown in Mubende and Kabanda districts. This is to curb the spread of the viral disease, Ebola.
He also announced a curfew from 6:00pm to 7:00am. This is to avoid unnecessary movements in the night that might spread the disease.
