The Grammy Awards ceremony happened yesterday in Las Vegas and Eddy Kenzo was in attendance as a person.
The talented singer and Matt B were nominated in the Best Global Music perfomance Category against other big names like Burnaboy, Zakes Batwinini who won and others.
However after losing, Kenzo didn’t seem to be disappointed. He went down to his social media platforms and thanked all Ugandans for giving him support.
According to him, he is forever grateful and he thinks the Grammy nomination is just the beginning, a lot of good things are coming up.
“And the baby went to south Africa, thank you for the support my people I’m forever grateful. Viva Uganda. this is just the beginning mbagala nyo🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬,” he posted.
South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode won the Best Global Music Performance category. This was for their song ‘Bayethe’ to beat Eddy Kenzo, Matt B, BurnaBoy among others in the category
Kenzo is the first Ugandan artiste to get a Grammy nomination and different celebrities thanked him for waving the Ugandan flag higher.
It should also be noted that Eddy Kenzo is one of the less-educated and double orphaned Ugandan artiste. However, he has been on big platforms than those that have degrees and masters.
